I received a call yesterday from Vic Salazar a reporter for
NBC 7/39. He wanted to interview me for a story on people
addicted to psychics. It seems an actress named Sarah
Lassez has recently written a book about how she maxed
out her credit cards and would call 3-5 psychics a day. She
mainly called the ones for $4.99 a minute and some of the
24-hour websites. There was another person in a New York
Times article that stated they would go down their lists of
psychics each day until they found one that would tell
them what they wanted to hear. This started quiet an
interesting dialogue between Cheryl, Annie, and two
Shamanism students: Patsy and Jose, and myself. We
started talking about how sad it is when we get new clients
after they have dealt with some other less reputable
individuals. So I decided not to do Vic's interview, since we
really do not have that type problem, that I can confirm,
here. Instead I wanted to put out there how to find a good
psychic or medium. Also, I want to do definition of terms,
but that may have to come later.
1. Try first going on a referral basis from a friend. However,
just because your friend connected well with that reader
doesn't mean you will.
2. Look for local Spiritualist Churches or Associations, as
Healing and Mediumship is part of their Principles.
3. Ask about Certification. Yes there are many
psychics/mediums with natural ability, but what work have
they done on themselves to hone their skills, raise their
vibrations and work through their own filters and
personality?
4. If they work out of a store, what is that store's
reputation?
5. If they are out of a store, many stores have fairs where
you can try different readers at reduced prices in 15-minute
intervals.
Some may even offer a free "mini" reading which is about 5-
7 minutes long and can let you know if you are connected
with the reader.
6. Do not try to test them by asking misleading questions.
That only confuses the energy and lets you know the
reader is human.
7. It is okay for the psychic to ask for clarification, but they
should not be asking so many questions that you are
doing the reading for them.
8. It is okay for you to ask questions, but you'll want to limit
them depending on the depth of answer required. If the
reader does not tell you, ask if they want the questions up
front, all together or one a time.
9. Remember all readers are different. You might go to one
for Spiritual path issues and another for work issues.
10. NO ONE CAN TAKE AWAY FREE WILL!!! - Your
decisions are yours that is why it is called Spiritual
Guidance, not Fortune Telling. If all you hear is that your life
is wonderful and there are no challenges for you and
everything that you are asking for is here and now.... It
might be true, if you have done your work, or they might be
telling you what you want to hear. Put everything that is
said through your own God -self inside you and see.
Warning signs (things we have actually heard from clients
that had happened to them before coming here) :
1. I was told my family was cursed and this man is the only
one powerful enough to lift it. I have paid him about $1,000
so far and need another $1000 for him to do the ritual for
me. He told me I was not powerful enough yet.
2. I want my wife back. I went to this other woman who I
paid $3000 to put a spell on her so she would come back to
me, but all I got was a bowl of chopped onions.
3. Time is up... Oh Wait, Spirit just gave me some vital
information, we must extend for another 15-minutes at $2.99
/min. (then she reiterated everything that was just said.)
4. I am the best psychic in the world.
5. I am the only teacher for you.
I could go on, but this is making me upset. One last word
about that "Psychic Junkie". This woman gave her power
away. Mystics, mediums and psychics should be
Spiritually uplifting and empowering. They should help you
on your path, not take it over. I am not saying that all those
who read for her were at fault. If her name was Imelda she
would have 3000 shoes. Do not put yourself in debt
looking for your happiness outside of yourself.
God lives inside of you. Seek there first.
